Our Code of Conduct

NIL collectives have come under much criticism. At the Patriot Nation Collective we hold ourselves to a higher standard.

Our collective will only seek partnerships that:

 

Are mutually beneficial for the student-athlete and business

Provide personal benefit to the student-athlete beyond compensation

Reflect well on the athlete and the George Mason University community

Our collective will not:

 

Negotiate partnerships with non-committed George Mason student-athletes (recruits)

Utilize any partnership as a recruiting inducement to commit to George Mason University.

Tolerate any abuse or exploitation of student-athletes, including interference in their academic pursuits.

  • Jim McKay Chevrolet

    Jim McKay Chevrolet has been serving the residents of the DMV since “Smilin” Jim McKay founded the dealership in 1956. This family-owned business has provided excellent service by treating each customer like family. A George Mason men’s basketball student-athletes figure prominently into the dealership’s annual marketing by appearing in commercials, appearances at the dealership, and promotion of the dealership on social media.

  • Purple Strategies

    Purple Strategies is a corporate reputation firm that helps the world’s leading companies and brands address their biggest challenges. Through their Transformation Ambassador Program, Purple partners with two George Mason men’s basketball student-athletes every year to document and share their personal transformation stories.

  • Washington Media Scholars Foundation

    Washington Media Scholars Foundation was founded in 2009 by Robin Roberts, the non-partisan Washington Media Scholars Foundation (WMSF) has raised over $2.5 million in scholarships for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in media and public policy. A George Mason men’s basketball student-athlete serves as a brand ambassador by raising awareness about the foundation and annual public affairs competition in Washington DC.
